MARCH is a Lebanese non-profit non-governmental organization founded in 2011 working to consolidate social cohesion within some of the country’s most prominent volatile areas. Its mission is centered around an innovative and multidisciplinary approach to peacebuilding and conflict resolution that focuses on engaging vulnerable and socioeconomically marginalized youth between the ages of 18 and 35, susceptible to sectarian-based violence.
Description:
MARCH is looking for a project coordinator on a contractual basis from June 2023 to May 2024 for implementing conflict resolution projects and activities in Tripoli in collaboration with the Lebanese army forces in the north.
- Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Formulating and coordinating interconnected projects or cross-project activities;
- Coordinating with the GD for project planning, execution, and evaluation reference to Log frame and baseline throughout the project life cycle.
- Organizing program activities in concordance with the organization’s mission, goals, and program components;
- Aiding in developing new activities to support the strategic direction of the organization;
- Monitoring the day-to-day operation cycle, and activities done reference to general planning guidelines and preset schedule.
- Creating and managing long-term goals and milestones in concordance with the organization’s theory of change;
- Aiding in developing and managing a budget and operation plan for the program;
- Developing a clear evaluation plan to assess the program’s strengths and identify areas for improvement;
- Mitigating any arising tensions within the team or beneficiary pool to avoid degeneration of conflict;
- Coordinating with the LAF point of contacts to plan, schedule and implement all project activities.
- Managing a team with a diversity of profiles, backgrounds, aptitudes, and responsibilities;
- Utilizing a cultural and conflict sensitivity and “Do No Harm” lens in dealing with beneficiaries;
- Managing vulnerable youths from marginalized backgrounds;
- Overseeing all entry and exit protocols for incoming and outgoing beneficiaries;
- Coordinate with contracted external consultants and trainers;
- Resolving higher scope project issues;
- Reporting back to the program director on a weekly basis;
- Ensuring proper delivery of milestones in a timely and effective manner;
- Ensuring beneficiary safety and well-being at all times;
- Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved;
- Aiding in the reporting and proposal development processes;
- Monitoring and analyzing external and internal risks that could potentially disrupt workflow and implementation of the project or trigger beneficiary recidivism.
- Following up on report forms in cooperation with the related team members and trainers.
- Leading daily team brief meetings as well as weekly meetings
- Ensuring proper implementation of the process for the implementation of the project activities with the concerned team.
- Building good working relationships and trust among partners and other entities to facilitate tasks inside and outside the center for volunteering and community service events as well as external trainings.
- Following up with trainers on the curriculum and schedules in the workshops and classes along with the evaluation monthly reports for the beneficiaries.
- Preparing service agreements, addendums in coordination in with GD approvals.
- Coordinating weekly with the M&E team and psychosocial team to ensure meeting the deadlines.
- Preparing narrative report based on monthly reported activities in coordination with the team in Beirut and Tripoli.
- Coordinating with the communication team for all event and activities.
- Leading on planning and organizing events on site.
- Following up on all lessons learnt based on data collection, documentation, and analyses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the humanitarian field or management position;
- A Master’s degree in sociology, political science, social work, psychology, or other related fields;
- Experience in working within vulnerable and marginalized communities;
- Experience in management of on-the-ground operations;
- Experience in financial and procurement policies;
- Experience in narrative and financial reporting;
- Strong command of English and Arabic language;
- Attention to detail;
- Solid interpersonal skills;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to practice active and attentive listening;
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs;
- Fluency in French is a plus
Experience in conflict transformation and mediation as well as extensive knowledge of the local socioeconomic, political, and security context particularly with regards to the areas of Beb El Tebbeneh and Jabal Mohsen are a plus.
