Job Mission:

To assist and work directly with the Head of Fundraising in tasks related to individual fundraising, Committed Giving & Donations.

  • The fundraiser aims to position SOS Children’s Villages as a strong and consistent partner among potential and existing supporters, based on SOS Children’s Villages roots, vision, mission and values.
  • The fundraiser conducts her/his work according to valid manuals and guidelines and the Fund Development & Communications Department’s planning and reporting procedure.

 

 

Major responsibilities:

 

  • Raising funds from individuals according to the business plan and targets, based on SOS best practice, competitors’ activities, research, tests and continuous evaluation of fundraising opportunities, methods and results.
  • Uses a strategic mix of products and channels to reach individual givers.
  • Conduct Telemarketing campaigns
  • Responsible of the development of the committed giving program
  • Develop and implement strategies for donor engagement and retention
  • Database management (data entry, monitoring and reporting)
  • Responsible of requesting in-kind donations according to the needs in the facilities
  • Assist in managing media and donor relations.
  • Assist in tasks that are related to communicating with donors
  • Meeting with and presenting SOS work to potential donors

 

Child Safeguarding (CS)

  • Responsible within own area of work to prevent and protect children of all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child Protection Policy principles.
  • Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to respective line manager

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven record of accomplishment of at least 3 years in individual fundraising, marketing or sales.
  • Experience in planning, executing and analyzing acquisition campaigns via mass marketing and direct marketing channels and tools
  • Knowledge and experience in customer relationship management (loyalty System)
  • Self-motivated, determined, innovative, pro-active and with a “can do” mentality, i.e. ability to identify and take advantage of fundraising opportunities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English/Arabic and social competence.
  • Good MS Office commands (Word, Power Point, especially Access and Excel)
  • Experience in telefacing and telemarketing
