arche noVa - Initiative for People in Need is an independent, non-religious, non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO) from Germany working in the fields of humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and development. The primary focus of activities lies in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Disaster Risk Reduction and Livelihoods as well as informal Education in the Middle East region.

Since 2016 arche noVa (AN) has been active in Lebanon, implementing projects focusing on access to safe water, sanitation as well as on informal education. We are currently hiring an Admin/Finance Assistant, part-time, with the possibility to be full time job in the near future.

Under the supervision of the Admin/Finance Manager, the main responsbilities shall be:

Finance:

  • Register expenditures in the arche noVa accounting system of (expenses from partner organizations and arche noVa).
  • Support in ensuring eligibility of the expenses (i.e., checking procedures used, supporting documents, budget availability… etc).
  • Responsible for the Petty cash expenses.
  • Prepare the bookkeeping of petty cash reconciliations.
  • Follow-up payments for Suppliers/Contractors as guided by the Admin/Finance Manager.
  • Scanning, printing, and uploading document to the sever/cloud of all documents related to accounting (of arche noVa and partners).

 

HR:

  • Provide support in recruitment processes when needed.
  • Support in preparation of the staff contracts. 
  • Support in preparation and payment of salaries.
  • Together with the Auditor, responsible for registration of employees in NSSF and MoF; as well as ensuring NSSF and tax on salaries payments.
  • Update of the Employee files (contract, JD, leaves, attendance or time sheets, etc).

 

Procurement

  • Together with the Logistic/Procurement Officer, support in preparation of administrative procurement documents.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economy or another related field.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in a relevant field, experience working with I/NGOs is an asset.
  • Highly organized, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fluid environment.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic,
  • MS skills, especially Excel, is a must.
