Essential Job functions: 

The Field Coordinator is expected to dedicate most of his/her time and effort working on the field to ensure that the well-fare of the beneficiary is met at all times. The Coordinator must strive to adhere to set standards and to maintain high quality project deliverables focused on maximizing the benefit for the beneficiary. 

Working closely and pro-actively with beneficiaries and partners, the Field Coordinator will work on the follow-up of activity implementation at field level, as requested by the Project Officer, and the respective Anera Area Manager under the guidance of the Education Program Manager. The field coordinator will be reporting directly to the Area Manager (where available) and to the Project Officer. 

The main tasks and responsibilities of the Coordinator are the following, but are not limited to: 

1) Ensuring the proper selection of beneficiaries to obtain their commitment:

a. Support in the selection process of beneficiaries for the program, including conducting orientation sessions and interviews to ensure retention and commitment of beneficiaries throughout the entire program implementation period. 

2) Verification of beneficiary data entered in registration forms through maintaining contact with beneficiaries on an individual level, through monitoring of registered trainees.

3) Ensuring that all aspects of project implementation are in accordance with program set criteria, and in compliance with agreements (if any), including:

a. Ensuring that all beneficiaries are treated with respect and are safe and protected within courses and directly report any incidents of violation or threat to Supervisor for immediate action. 

b. Ensuring attendance is maintained through following up on absenteeism from the beginning to prevent any drop-out. 

c. Ensuring that tutors and trainers are providing courses in accordance with agreed hours and planned teaching/training schedules. 

d. Ensuring that all trainees and trainers receive transportation (in a timely manner).

e. Conducting motivational activities where needed to enhance retention.

f. Tackling any challenges faced with course implementation and regularly check on the level of satisfaction of beneficiaries with the activities and report and address any complaints/feedback. 

g. Verification of all payment requests received and offering support to partners in order to prepare requests when needed. 

h. Ensuring visibility of Anera and donor throughout all course implementation. 

Cross-functional duties include:  

Accountability to Beneficiaries 

Anera team members are urged to support all efforts towards transparency and accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to ethical and international standards governing international relief and humanitarian aid work. Coordinators must adhere to child protection and safeguarding policies and ensure that all activities are in alignment with the ‘do no harm’ approach to maintain the safety and protection of all beneficiaries. 

Monitoring and Evaluation 

● Refer and adhere to the M&E plan to conduct monitoring and evaluation on all assigned activities using the relevant tools and means of verification. 

● Collect data on a regular basis, enter/compile (in a critical manner) and update information from the field (registration forms, attendance records of youth/teachers, photos of activities…).

● Conduct regular check-ups on validity of data necessary to maintain contact with beneficiaries and classroom observations to verify attendance and determine the quality of instruction and provide feedback on such. 

● Ensure that all partners are maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment inside their centers and that partners are able to accommodate youth with disabilities in their facilities. 

Coordination and Representation / Relationship with partners including support and capacity building 

● Build relationships with project partners and local stakeholders to introduce the project and facilitate access to information related to project activities and scope and arrange for meetings with partners, local entities and stakeholders, as requested.

● Act as a liaison between communities and Anera office; maintain good relationships with beneficiaries and local leaders/authorities; and represent Anera while in the field. 

Reporting 

● Prepare weekly plans and weekly/monthly reports to be submitted to the Area Manager. Contribute to reports and other ad hoc reports as required. 

● Detect and report immediately to Area Manager, Project Officer, and Program Manager, any [problems arising during implementation including monitoring child/youth abuse, maltreatment, hazardous situation, safety measures, etc.
