Learning Module Creator –SOGIESC for Service Providers

Desired Outcome: The purpose of this workshop is to prepare a large array of diverse service providers to be able to handle cases involving LGBTQ individuals at risk. This includes how to identify and assess risks that are specific to sexual and gender minorities, how to establish trust and shared purpose, how to diagnose the reason for the client’s application and or/distress, and how to contextualize their case given Lebanon’s unique experience with LGBTQ populations historically, legally, socially, economically, and culturally. After completion if the training the participants will be able to provide a higher quality and level of service for LGBTQ applicants. They would be able to navigate the complexities of LGBTIQ+ related cases and provide services that factor in the unique considerations facing sexual and gender non-conforming people in Lebanon including refugees, migrant workers, sex workers, and undocumented individuals.
