Summary:
To support the implementation of the Project “Roots” the Giovanni Paolo II Foundation (FGPII) is recruiting an agricultural engineer to:
• Develop and take in charge the Project’s MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) plan;
• Establish an effective data collection system, to measure Project’s achievements towards targets on a regular basis;
• Manage information and reporting
• Strengthen project’s accountability mechanism;
• Evaluate impact of the action
Project Activities will be in governorates South, North and Akkar.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development of a M&E plan,
- Outlining the steps of each activity and setting out, in collaboration with the team, who is in charge for each of them and when deliverables should be received
- Contribute to the organization of farmer baseline surveys including the socioeconomic status of beneficiaries and stakeholders at the start of the project
- Regularly collect information from the field to measure achievements of each activity towards targets;
- Manage information analyzing data collected and present simple reports to the project manager every month or whenever requested
- Assist the project team to strengthen the accountability mechanism of the project
- Assist the project team in documenting lessons learnt
Other responsibilities:
- Support the team to organize and implement training for product qualitative development and contribute to the elaboration of the Quality Management System for production, postharvest and processing, with a particular focus on citrus and tropical fruits;
- Support the team on the establishment and follow up of macro demo areas;
- Support the team in providing continuous technical assistance and field extension to producers;
- Support the organization of workshops, focus groups, and awareness-raising campaigns to promote strengthening and/or creation of organizations of producers in the target locations;
- Support any other project activity, according to time availability
Education Requirements:
Agricultural Engineer with academic curricula including advanced statistics or social sciences
• Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible and sensitive in demanding situations; passion for working with others
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English language
• Good attitude and experience in working with farmers, partners and allies
• Good understanding of, and commitment to gender equity
• Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
• Driving license (mandatory)
• Commitment to the aims and objectives of John Paul II Foundation
• Field experience
Desirable
• Availability of personal vehicle to conduct field visits
