Summary:

To support the implementation of the Project “Roots” the Giovanni Paolo II Foundation (FGPII) is recruiting an agricultural engineer to:
•    Develop and take in charge the Project’s MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) plan;
•    Establish an effective data collection system, to measure Project’s achievements towards targets on a regular basis;
•    Manage information and reporting 
•    Strengthen project’s accountability mechanism;
•    Evaluate impact of the action

Project Activities will be in governorates South, North and Akkar. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the development of a M&E plan,
  2. Outlining the steps of each activity and setting out, in collaboration with the team, who is in charge for each of them and when deliverables should be received
  3. Contribute to the organization of farmer baseline surveys including the socioeconomic status of beneficiaries and stakeholders at the start of the project
  4. Regularly collect information from the field to measure achievements of each activity towards targets;
  5. Manage information analyzing data collected and present simple reports to the project manager every month or whenever requested
  6. Assist the project team to strengthen the accountability mechanism of the project
  7. Assist the project team in documenting lessons learnt

Other responsibilities:

  1. Support the team to organize and implement training for product qualitative development and contribute to the elaboration of the Quality Management System for production, postharvest and processing, with a particular focus on citrus and tropical fruits;
  2. Support the team on the establishment and follow up of macro demo areas;
  3. Support the team in providing continuous technical assistance and field extension to producers;
  4. Support the organization of workshops, focus groups, and awareness-raising campaigns to promote strengthening and/or creation of organizations of producers in the target locations;
  5. Support any other project activity, according to time availability

Education Requirements:

Agricultural Engineer with academic curricula including advanced statistics or social sciences
•    Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible and sensitive in demanding situations; passion for working with others
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English language
•    Good attitude and experience in working with farmers, partners and allies
•    Good understanding of, and commitment to gender equity
•    Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
•    Driving license (mandatory)
•    Commitment to the aims and objectives of John Paul II Foundation
•    Field experience

Desirable
•    Availability of personal vehicle to conduct field visits
