MINIMUM REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in public health, social science or sciences (biology, chemistry, or any health related field).

  • 2+ years overall work experience in a research.
  • Dynamic attitude, multitasking skills and team player
  • Experience working with qualitative and quantitative data
  • Experience working across the different levels of the research process (from data collection, to data analysis and writing up research results)
  • Fluency in word processing, spreadsheets, and internet technology.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills in Arabic and English
  • Attention to detail and high professionalism.
  • Experience working with statistical software (SPSS) is a plus.
  • Ability to stay calm and empathize with beneficiaries when upset.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Research services:

  • Conducts on and off site interviews using a variety of structured and non-structured questionnaires.
  • Assist in the development of data tables/ graphs/ charts to prepare the material for presentations and conferences.
  • Maintain interim contact with study participants to maintain current address and telephone information.
  • Assist in the collection of new data: code, clean, transcribe, record, enter, store and coordinate all data collected with other research staff as appropriate.
  • Generate required reports as needed.
  • Maintain an inventory of data collection forms to ensure ease of data retrieval.
  • Order supplies and intervention materials.
  • Conduct assessments.
  • Draft reports and papers of academic standard.
  • Work within a strict framework of research ethics and confidentiality. 
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel

Social services:

  • Assist beneficiaries and their parents with available services, information, and referrals to other medical centers via phone and in person.
  • Assess beneficiaries’ medical files and regularly follow up on cases.
  • Create, update and maintain accurate records for patients on Sanabel’s data system.
  • Participate with team visits to assess patients and family conditions.
  • The successful candidate will undergo one month paid training in Beirut with Sanad Organization.

As a member of SANABEL’s research team, the research assistant is responsible for conducting literature searches, data management, recruiting participants and obtaining consents. She/he will also maintain patients files, schedule / conduct interviews, assist with data analysis and generate correspondence, reports and graphics. She/He will be working closely with the senior researcher and the research team.
