Society for Social Support and Education (SSSE) is looking for a part-time Executive Director to join its team in Beirut.

The Society for Social Support and Education (SSSE) #1503 was founded in Beirut, Lebanon in August 2019 to provide a wide range of services to underprivileged with special focus on educational initiatives that are designed to brighten the minds, careers and futures of school-age children. Prior to 2019, great effort and hard work was put into establishing the educational centers and recruiting the students as well as generating funds. This was achieved through relentless work of a group of ladies and the generous donations of many friends, charities and individual donors, thus began the road to what we have now.

The Executive Director will work closely with SSSE’s board to ensure that the organization’s mission and vision are applied in its operations. 

Tasks and Duties include: 

  • Together with the Board be responsible for the management of SSSE office
  • Representing SSSE in coordination with the Board 
  • Responsible for contracts/agreements/documents where legally compliant
  • Establish strong and professional connections with donors and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in the press and media where required.
  • Overseeing and reporting on the organization’s results to  the board of directors.
  • Support in planning, organization, and directing the organization’s operations and programs.
  • Support in formulating and implementing the strategic plans of the organization.
  • Supervise and pro-actively pursue funding opportunities.
  • Provide leadership to and manage the efforts of site staff to ensure appropriate support
  • Perform general management duties ensuring the successful operations of the organization

 

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Non-Profit Executive Director or similar role for at least 5 years (experience in consultancy included).
  • Experience running fundraising initiatives
  • Experience in recruitment of staff and employees.
  • Strong knowledge of financials reporting and donor rules, and experience in budget planning.
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Non-Profit Executive Director or similar.
  • Relevant computer and excel skills.
  • Experience in working in the education sector is an added value
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written)
