Venture37 is seeking candidates for the Finance Assistant position for the Lebanon office to support the current programs being implemented: the Farmer-To-Farmer Food Safety and Quality (F2F FSQ) and the Cooperative Development Program (CDP) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  The projects aim to support local agri-businesses and cooperatives through improved production capacities, better enabling environment, and enhanced resources to meet the evolving needs.

Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities

The position of Finance Assistant is an entry-level position that supports Venture37 Lebanon office programs’ Finance and Procurement functions. He/She will report directly with the the Finance Manager and coordinate with the Administrative Coodinator and Grants Specialist.

Detailed responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Procurement (10%)

  • Assist the Administrative Coordinator to collect data and supporting documents from vendors on regular basis and ensure necessary follow-ups
  • Communicate with vendors if necessary, to obtain missing documents
  • Assist the Administrative Coordinator with the mileage tracker sheet.
  • Other procurement tasks as assigned by the Procurement Officer.

Finance (80%)

  • Assist the Finance Manager in following-up with technical, grants and MEL teams to complement procedures for ongoing grant contributions and other allocated payments
  • Assist in maintaining monthly financial files in both hard and soft copies
  • Communicate with local suppliers and hotels and obtain invoices and other supporting documents
  • Assist the Finance manager with the daily transactions and the month closing process.
  • Work in cross-functional teams to support the programs as directed by the Finance Manager
  • Other finance and accounting tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Grant support (10%)

  • Support the Grant Specialist in record keeping and collect necessary documents from partners as supporting evidence

Reporting & Supervision:

  • Supervised by the Finance Manager
  • This position will have no direct reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree or any other Technical School degree
  • 1 year of professional experience working in the administrative field
  • Self—motivated and willing to take on a variety of different assignments and tasks while working as part of a small team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and teamwork
  • Good computer skills - effective use of Microsoft office and accounting system.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
