ATB Operational Manager

Alternative Tour Beirut is a Beirut based social enterprise. ATB was established in the summer of 2015 to provide a holistic, local and complex perspective on Beirut. Our mission is to disseminate knowledge about the city’s complex dimensions using experiences such as walking, learning, team building, networking, branding experiences, incentive programs amongst others. We present Beirut and other cities from an alternative lens and our experiences adapt to the continuous changes of the city. ATB places itself at the cross-roads of tourism, education, sustainability, and social change.

 

ATB is looking for a part time operational manager for its operations in Beirut as well as for some other activities across Lebanon.

 

Your profile

Passionate about Beirut and cities

Experience in coordinating logistics and/or project management

Interest in history, politics, cultures

Studies in a field related to those topics is a plus

English Arabic bilingual, French and any other language is a plus

Experience in guiding, public speaking, is a plus

 

Tasks

Marketing and communication:

Posters:

Creating the design and making sure that the information on the poster is updated and correct

Distributing the posters in Beirut spots (coffeeshops, pubs, hotels, etc) once a month

Checking on the posters once a week - this could be one neighborhood per week

Hotels Beirut Based:

Distributing posters in hotels

Building connections with concierges and establishing ATB as the tour operator for Beirut

Social Media / Digital Presence / Soft skill tasks:

Publish Facebook events once a month

Post instagram pictures x 3 times a week

Collecting events happening in the city once a month

Checking emails daily / Responding to email inquiries / making sure that all requests are taken care of

Checking ATB’s phone / Whatsapp / Internet connection / daily basis and in particular before and after each tour

MChecking Google Registration Forms / updating them / sending confirmation emails / sending reminder emails before the tour and a follow-up email after each tour to collect feedback and reviews

Collecting client email lists and creating a database 

Collecting emails of local operators and checking if there is room for some type of collaboration so that they can send clients our way

 

Community Building

Building connections with Embassies and NGOs as these are substantial piece of our market - this is also through the registration emails and making sure to keep an eye for emails that are Embassy/NGO based

Attending Events happening in Beirut and buzzing the word about ATB regularly

Collecting database with tourism operators outside of Lebanon that look like us (Europe, Turkey) and building some sort of collaborations

 

Team

Team meeting twice a month

Following up with the operations of the team and checking if there are any problems to solve

Collecting Cash

Making sure that the cash flow is correct with the number of attendees per tour

Track time via toggl application to check if over or under worked and optimize the team members time accordingly

Once a week a meeting with ATB’s manager to discuss opportunities/operations/
