Job Purpose

 

To help ensure the financial sustainability of Salam LADC through the development of project proposals, completing grant applications, maintaining donor relationships and high-quality reporting. Our fundraising mission aims to inspire people to support our quest for change. As the Fundraising Officer, your role will be to develop and implement fundraising initiatives that maximise income and raise awareness of our work.

 

Work with Donors 

The jobholder's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks: 

Proposals: drafting proposals in response to appropriate calls for funding, in line with Salam LADC’s strategic plan in order to secure funding for planned and ongoing activities and projects.

Reporting: compiling and sending reports to donors on the implementation of projects and activities they are funding, and updating donors on all major decisions, changes, or organisational news in a timely fashion.

Point person for donors: communicating directly with a portfolio of donors regarding proposals, reports, requests, queries, etc.

Creating and maintaining positive relationships with donors; being the liaison between Salam LADC staff and donors.

Actively searching for new opportunities for donor funding when needed to cover our expenses and to begin new activities or projects within our capacity, as well as to diversify our sources of funding.

 

Programs development

The jobholder's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks: 

Project Development: supporting the Programs Manager and team managers to develop projects that are in line with Salam’s vision and mission and available funding.

Financial tracking and reallocation: Identifying and responding to changes as per team manager updates and requests to ensure that short-term funding needs can be met and project changes can be made, including planning, writing and submitting reallocation requests to donors.

Information sharing within Salam LADC of contractual arrangements with donors to support teams to follow conditions, including attending regular meetings, leading ad hoc capacity building, updating the internal donor database and sharing with relevant staff.

Other related tasks as needed.

 

Communications & Work Relationships

Internal Communication

Regular contact with the Operations and Program Managers.

Regular contact with MEAL and Finance Officer.

Occasional contact with all team leaders.

 

External Communication

Regular contact with donors and individual contributors.

Occasional contact with potential partners.

Developing and implementing a multi-media fundraising strategy to engage our supporters.

Developing and delivering new ways to engage the public with support for our work.

 

Essential

 

Up to 1 years of experience in Fundraising for NGO’s  in some capacity with proven success.

Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to build relationships and influence, both internally and externally.

Excellent command of English is required.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral expression, strategic thinking, coordinating different people's efforts.

Ability to work calmly in a busy working environment with competing demands on your time.  

Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise workload, plan ahead and achieve deadlines.

Very good organisational and time management skills, proactive, self-motivated.

Experience in writing detailed project plans and/or proposals is required. Knowledge and understanding of NGO and humanitarian work.

High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, databases).  

Commitment to the values and vision of Salam LADC.

 

Asset:

 

Knowledge and understanding of the humanitarian needs and context in Lebanon.

Arabic and French knowledge are valuable assets.

University Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Media/Communications or a related field.

We have a volunteer house and are open to providing you free accommodation within this volunteer house. Both Lebanese and International Candidates are encouraged to apply. There is flexibility in the role as we can discuss and consider the hours you will work if you meet the requirements.
