Educator for grades 1-3 for a new alternative school
Please sned a cover letter and CV.
We are a community of families whose children currently attend a forest school based around Beirut, Lebanon, with others who believe in alternative and democratic education. Together we are creating a primary school that would reflect our values around education and pedagogy.
We seek a full-time educator for grades 1-3 for a new alternative school.
The person who takes on this mission would help shape the project over the years with a vision.
With support from the parents, the educator will lead teaching a group from five to ten children (possibly with another educator), and develop a curriculum that draws on alternative education based on the child's well-being besides centering differentiated instruction, self-directed inquiry, experiential learning, creativity, joy, the bond with nature, connection with free, self-esteem, empathetic, love and egalitarian elements in the culture of Lebanon and the region and humanity at large, where we also opt for the inclusion of the Arabic language.
We plan to start in the vicinity of the greater Beirut area, in September 2022.
It is preferable to have teaching diploma with work experience (preferably in a kind of alternative education). Yet, we are open to discuss diverse experiences (i.e. arts with experience in education) where further learning and training could be supported.
It is also preferable to have Arabic and English as languages of instruction.
We would discuss the salary range, while there would be other benefits. We care that the educator feels comfortable.
We will start discussing applications from 30 March 2022.
