About the job
The role entails both program cycle management, planning and implementation as well as development of the program. The SPO will be responsible for development and implementation of annual country operational plan, respective budgets, context analysis and risk assessments, in close cooperation with other program and finance staff.
Further the SPO is responsible for making appropriate recommendations on the programme’s progress and development by identifying thematic priorities, potential partner organisations, concerns, and new opportunities for work in designated country. The SPO will also be expected to support other program staff in assessing proposals and work plans, and quality assurance reports from partner organisations.
The SPO reports to and performs all tasks in relation to the operations as delegated by Head of Office. The SPO makes decisions in their area of work in regular dialogue with their immediate team and within the framework of the approved operational plan and budget. Tasks will include but not be limited to;
Together with other program staff, ensuring that all activities in the country programme are carried out in accordance with working methods, strategies, policies and expected results of Kvinna till Kvinna, and in accordance with the partnership agreements.
Responsible for continuous mapping and assessment of relevant women’s rights- and feminist organisations (i.e., organisations working on women’s rights, advocacy, GBV, etc.) at national level.
Responsible for continuous mapping of donor landscape and identification of opportunities of engagement.
Lead in concept note and proposal development in close cooperation with relevant women’s rights organisations and Kvinna till Kvinna departments.
Coordinating and cooperating with like-minded organisations, INGOs and donors active in the field of women’s rights.
Participating, and sometimes leading, regional and global working groups to further develop methods and thematic areas of Kvinna till Kvinna.
Representing Kvinna till Kvinna at official meetings and functions in the context of programme development and donor relations.
Providing continuous support to partner organisations and emerging groups, including collectives, networks and unregistered entities.
Capacity building and organising experience exchanges, study trips and networking meetings to enhance quality programming and implementation.
In close cooperation with other program staff, conduct general administration and financial procedures in relation to the programme.
About you
To be successful in the role as Senior Programme Office you should have a strong analytical skill as well as strategic thinking. You are responsible, flexible, and adaptable. Your good social and outreach skills and ability to cooperate with a range of partners and stakeholders make you a strong team player and you believe in working together with others. Your experience has given you the ability to prioritize, stay solution-focused and deliver timely. Furthermore, your work is characterized by responsiveness, integrity, and ability to handle stressful situations.
You have a strong belief and commitment to women’s human rights and gender equality and acts as a good ambassador for the organisation even outside of work.
You need to at least have;
Degree or equivalent in Gender Studies, Political Science, Human Rights, Conflict Studies, or any other related field.
Minimum five years of relevant work experience with program cycle management and development.
Experience of working with women’s human rights, feminist organising or movement building, gender equality issues, women’s empowerment, women’s political activism and/or peace building.
In-depth understanding of human rights and the application of a rights-based approach in development cooperation.
Experience of working in/or knowledge of the region.
Proven experience in project cycle management and in planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Proven experience of identifying needs and providing capacity building and strategic support to local NGOs.
Experience of international development co-operation.
Knowledge of relevant donor landscape and identification of opportunities of engagement.
Experience of concept note and proposal development
Valid driving license.
Excellent written and spoken Arabic; good working level of spoken and written English.
Good and proven proficiency in Microsoft office.
Terms & conditions and what we offer
This is a full-time position for 1 year (incl. 2 months’ probation), with possible extension. Access as soon as possible.
The position is a consultant position under Lebanese labour legislation and will be located in Beirut. Goal-oriented working hours applies.
You need the ability to travel 3-6 times a year, including overnight stays. Full insurances apply.
