About the Project
Tayf has been running for almost 4 years now supporting the community and spreading awareness and education around sexual health and gender. After closing the center following the political and social unrest in Lebanon, Tayf resumed to connect with the community and stay informed about their needs. When the Corona virus pandemic hit the world, Tayf quickly mobilized to fundraise and support the community with a relief project of food and sanitation. Quickly the needs of the community kept rising and a larger need for services has been identified. Tayf started more services and continues to grow to support the community in Lebanon in this time of need.
About the Job The job is mainly coordination of activities, of funds and of relief services, with case referral to the appropriate services. You are in contact with people, empathy and integrity are the most important two traits for this job. The job is 40 hours a week, without a need for full office presence but coordinating the phone line and the social media accounts.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the community dynamics and environment in Lebanon
- Good communication skills in Arabic and English (French is an added value)
- Book keeping, coordination skills and Microsoft Office Efficiency
- Good Language Skills, Good People skills, Integrity
- Social Media knowledge
- Sexual Health Knowledge
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Tayf relief project by coordinating the procurement and distribution
- Handling of the Tayf phone line
- Documenting requests for support and referring to the right service
- Coordinating the appointments for the mental health support consultants
- Coordinating the faith and LGBT service
- Management of the Tayf social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram)
- Book keeping of basic finances and services via Excel
- Promoting Tayf and its services
- Reporting on Tayf Activities
Education and Experience
- University degree in social sciences, public health, psychology, social work or similar.
- Technical Degree or other university degrees are acceptable if paired with the relevant experience in the same field.
- An experience of no less than 2 – 3 years of activism, work or volunteering with LGBTIQ++
