Responsibilities
1. Legal counselling and support to cases: - Provide on-the-spot legal assistance and counselling to Palestine Refugees from Lebanon (PRL) and Syria (PRS) in North Lebanon, in line with the legal services provided by UNRWA;  - Provide a hotline presence for legal queries from both PRL and PRS in North Area of Lebanon; - Refer relevant protection-related cases to the Legal Aid Project Coordinator for further legal counselling or representation when necessary, maintaining appropriate written documentation; - Refer cases to other members of the protection team, other UNRWA services or partner organizations and receive referrals from them; working closely with colleagues to maintain appropriate      communication with clients as per roles and responsibilities of different members of the team; - Coordinate closely with the Protection and Neutrality Associate (PNA) in NLA to track trends and ensure an integrated response; - Refer cases to the legal aid coordinator and legal associate as needed; - Collect information for test cases on protection interventions.
2.  Awareness raising - Undertake outreach to PRL and PRS, UNRWA staff, NGOs, popular committees in protection and legal matters and provide briefings on the rights of Palestine refugees and the work of the Legal Aid  Project, through focus groups, drop-in sessions, area coordination meetings etc in the area of operation;
- Conduct outreach to PRL and PRS, UNRWA staff, NGOs and popular committees in protection and legal matters, seeking opportunities to provide briefings on the civil rights of Palestine refugees, processes around civil documentation, and the work of the Legal Aid Project. This may be through focus groups, drop-in sessions, area coordination meetings; - Work closely with other UNRWA services and protection colleagues to identify opportunities to increase awareness raising.
3.  Reporting - Provide regular reports and updates to the legal aid coordinator and legal associate including regular written and verbal updates on cases and on the key legal issues identified to raise awareness, track trends and identify legal and protection responses.This includes an analysis on the differences in the situation between PRL and PRS. - Maintain and update records of each case followed and/or referred
