Workshop for Journalists on Gender and sexuality reporting

The Gender and Body rights Media Center (GAB) at the Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality AFE in partnership with FRIEDRICH EBERT STIFTUNG (FES) is currently accepting applications to its “Workshop for Journalists on Gender and sexuality reporting.” GAB will conduct a series of training and discussion sessions that aim at identifying and addressing the challenges of journalists, particularly those who report on gender, sexuality and LGBT issues in the MENA region. 

This 4 days workshop will take place on 2nd, 3rd, 4th  and 5th of September, and will focus on:
- International and local laws on LGBT
- Non-biased reporting
- Overcoming the language of fear
- Gender equality and diversity
- Protection of human rights through non-biased coverage

- Sexual Health, HIV and related terminology.

To be eligible, applicants need to be:

  • Journalists currently working as full-time or freelance journalists/bloggers in Lebanon
  • Fluent in Arabic. English is a plus.
  • Aged 21 and above.

The workshop will take place at FES offices in Down Town Beirut, 157 Marfa’a Rue 73 (Saad Zaghloul) 1st Floor from 9 AM till 2 PM and will be given by:
