About the project
ABAAD is working with 50 active youths who will be conducting community based events to raise awareness on non-traditional gender roles within the 5 targeted communities.
Under this assignment, ABAAD is looking for an Art Specialist to engage with the youth groups and other community members through an art-based project (interactive theater, photography exhibition, etc.) as part of the social stability promotion activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Art specialist will be responsible for conducting 4 (2 hours) community artistic preparation sessions as well as a community based event in one the following areas: Bintjbeil- Jbeil- Bebnine- Qobbeh-and labwe involving mixed gender youth groups between 17 and 25 years old; These sessions will aim at preparing for an event through which a gender equitable message will be conveyed to community members.
- The Art specialist is to submit a proposed methodology and roadmap of the activities while detailing the relevant tools, scripts, materials to be used during sessions to ensure these are culturally sensitive to the targeted population.
- The Art Based specialist is to provide progress & final reports after finalizing activities in the targeted area.
Skills required
- Previous experience in conducting Art based PSS activities for young women and men, while addressing gender issues through interactive actions;
- Previous experience in targeting vulnerable population in the area of choice;
- Willingness to work with adolescent girls and boys;
- Previous knowledge of the cultural aspects (norms, traditions and beliefs) related to most vulnerable population in the area of choice (including Syrian, and Palestinian refugees and host communities).
