Connecting Research to Development (CRD) is a research think tank that operates in the support, generation, and dissemination of evidence-based research from combined perspectives of public health and social science in the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Functional since 2000 under the name of Société de Recherche et d'Environnement (SRSE), CRD was officially established in 2014 in Beirut, Lebanon. In close cooperation with its partners, the specific goal is to apply scientific innovative know-how and to transform evidence-based data into programmatic actions.

The incumbent supervises a large team of professional and support staff and provides strategic direction, leadership and management on all technical, managerial and programmatic matters related to the Field Infrastructure and Camp Improvement Programme (ICIP).

The Organisation
JRS began working in the MENA region in July 2008, responding to the needs of Iraqi refugees. Today JRS accompanies, serves, and advocates on behalf of refugees, internally displaced persons, returnees and vulnerable host community members in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. JRS programmes in the region deliver multisectoral interventions including home visits, emergency assistance, child and adult education, mental health and psychosocial support, social services, protection, health care, livelihoods, community building and advocacy programmes.

Dans le domaine de l’éducation , l’IECD, en collaboration avec des partenaires locaux, gère un centre éducatif dans une région du Liban touchée par un afflux massif de réfugiés syriens. Le centre de Beyrouth est ouvert depuis fin 2006 pour les élèves des écoles publiques de la région, surtout ceux qui ont un risque élevé de décrochage scolaire.
Plus de 1400 enfants (de 8 à 16 ans) ont d’ores-et-déjà bénéficié d’une remédiation à l’éducation de base , de soutien scolaire ou périscolaire ainsi que d’activités extrascolaires et d’un soutien psychosocial.
