What do attendees think about the Civil Society Incubator’s 1st workshop?

Lebanon Support organised on the 26th of April 2017, a workshop on Clear and Persuasive Communication, delivered by Thomas Hart. We posted about the workshop in a previous post and you can read more details about it here.

In order to gather the attendees’ feedback about this workshop, we designed a post-workshop survey that was emailed to the participants of our workshops. The survey addressed several dimensions relevant to quality, usefulness of data, and the trainer’s ability to deliver the information. The results are shared below.

In the first question, we asked attendees to rate, on a scale of 5 (with 5 being the best), the overall quality and usefulness of the workshop format and the individual activities. As a result, we got an average of 4.3 out of 5 for the Overall Format, 4.5 for the Presentation, 4.4 for the Exercises, and 4.2 for the Handout.

In the next question, we gave attendees specific criteria in order to rate the trainer’s performance and the information delivered in the presentation, and we received the following results:

Relevance: 4.5 out of 5

Informative: 4.5 out of 5

Easy to Follow: 4.6 out of 5

Identified Challenges: 4.1 out of 5

Identified Strategies: 4.3 out of 5

Length: 4.2 out of 5

In addition to the statistical approach, the survey also included an open comment section where respondents could give further feedback. Here are a few of the comments we received:

“The powerpoint presentation was really organized and well formed ! Great Gob.”

“Excellent all in all, if possible more material. Great job!”

“Challenging, helps in clarifying and solidifying information.”

The third question aimed to assess the group exercise that took place within the workshop, which received the below results.

In terms of Relevance, respondents rated the exercises done in the workshop, an average of 4.3 out of 5, scoring the highest rate among the other 3 categories; while the rate of the overall usefulness followed with an average of 4.1. The respondents gave a rate of 3.7 for both the length of the exercises and amount of information delivered.

Overall, 90% of attendees found the workshop made them more knowledgeable about clear and persuasive communication and said they would recommend it to a friend.
