World Learning – Porticus - MEHE SEL Consultant

The Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” aims to devise a national roadmap toward establishing solid foundations from which to facilitate the development of a comprehensive SEL policy for Lebanon; policies in SEL will ensure a systematic integration and institutionalization of an SEL culture into both formal and non-formal educational system.

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “MEHE SEL Consultant” for the Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon”. This position is for a Lebanese national.
Scope and Responsibilities
The “MEHE SEL Consultant” for the Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” will be responsible for the desk review of existing programs (in all directorates of MEHE and NGO’s working with MEHE including the private sector). His/ her responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to the provision of relevant data and evidence that would feed into the development of the roadmap for a SEL policy.
• Technical contribution to the core technical team and other relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborating and coordinating with the core technical team, in coordination with all other consultant to follow up on deliverables
• Contributing to the consolidation, analysis and validation of findings and exploring additional areas of inquiry for the SEL policy.
• Participating in reflection sessions with all the relevant teams.
• Supporting in drafting the final report in collaboration with the relevant teams
• Attending and participating in regular meetings and working sessions.

Required Qualifications:

• MA in Education, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Studies, or relevant fields.
• A minimum of 5-years of research experience in relevant field, preferably in primary/elementary years.
• Excellent capacity in communication and facilitation skills
• Expertise SEL, PSS, Life Skills, and similar programs.
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Solid knowledge of Lebanon’s National SOPs and MEHE structure
• Solid knowledge of SEL mainstreaming in Education
• Excellent analysis, reporting and M&E skills and experience evaluating knowledge acquisition
• Ensure safeguarding requirements are applied and reflected in the solicitation and contract as applicable
