OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS
UPEL aims through its programs to support and strengthen child protection systems on a local level. It also provides the opportunities for technical support and training for workers who are activists in the child protection sector
For this aim UPEL encourages qualified, motivated competent candidates to apply for the Operations Manager Position.
Scope of work
- Adhere to project plan
- Follow up on projects implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Develop projects budgets and work plans
- Provide administrative and logistical support related to the project, including meeting preparation, communications, travel, expenses, and documents management
- Identify any research needs
- Provide reporting and project progress
- Liaise with partners and experts when needed
- Develop project documents, proposals, background papers, and briefs
- Contribute to projects related human and financial resource mobilization.
- Lead set-up of all operational elements of new projects, including procurement, vendor selection, grant opening meetings, and establishment of all required systems and integration where needed with established country program processes
- Lead design and documentation of any relevant project processes or systems
Planning & Strategizing
- Develop a detailed project plan taking into account time and resources allocated to the project
- Provide regular updates on project status and progress on the plan
- Request research material and best practices
- Follow up on the implementation of projects work plans
Execution & Delivery
- Contribute to the foundation of workshops /programs and involve team/external experts as needed
- Liaise with the partners on a regular basis
- Escalate any issues/ roadblocks to find solutions to move forward
Financial/Resource Mobilization
- Generate financial progress reports on the projects
- Ensure that projects are completed on budget and on time
Partners & Beneficiaries
- Develop relationships with counterparts in national entities (NGOs, ministry of Justice, palace of Justice etc.)
- Identify best practices programs for the category assigned to (Youth & Children/Parents & Educators)
- Interact continuously with project members and ensure that their objectives and tasks are clear and understood
Learning & Knowledge Management
- Create an environment of teamwork within the organization
- Act according to regulations
- Act as a key resource and liaison to other functional areas of the foundation, building productive cross-functional relationships
- Develop expertise in core area aligned to (Youth & Children/Parents & Educators)
Skills:
Qualifications
- University degree in one of the following fields political science, economics, international relations, business, psychology, social science or any other related field.
- Advanced university degree is an added value
- 3+ years relevant experience
- Prior experience in a non-profit or international field, with focus on youth or children
- Prior experience in managing projects
Technical skills
- Understanding of non-profit sector
- Understanding of governmental policies and Legal authorities and courts
- Excellent Project management and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good problem solving capacity
