 Organizational Context:

The post is based in Beirut Country Office (CO) and the incumbent may need to travel frequently to the field offices (FO’s) in different parts of the country. The incumbent reports to the Information Technology Officer.

Background

To deliver IT operational objectives as determined by the IT Officer.

Accountabilities:

      Under the supervision of the IT Officer, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:

  • Carry-out system and equipment maintenance tasks, such as Monitoring back-up system, data and system performance, to ensure that everything is being reported.
  • Act as Help Desk focal point by allocating and assigning support tickets as required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, test and support all enterprise systems in daily IT operations and proper data and voice connectivity of all users in and between Country Office and the field-Offices.
  • Assist in Installing and maintaining computers and other IT related equipment in the existing network.
  • Ensure a maximum uptime Service computer and IT related hardware.
  • Install of hardware upgrades for IT infrastructure and Install and de-install computer equipment and software as requires.
  • Provide user support, hands-on training, and advise for all IT related issues.
  • Work closely with the team to provide advice and support to managers and users, understanding and resolving issues, and ensuring IT policies, procedures, systems and tools are correctly applied to support them.
  • Assist in setting up, controlling and maintaining the performance of all radio communications equipment in the country.
  • Interact effectively with internal and external colleagues and user groups to understand their needs and provide appropriate technical support.
  • Provide SCOPE support functions as required.
  • Provide detail reports on all the above.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

        Desired experiences for entry into this role:

  • Very good command of Microsoft Office applications and products.
  • Ability to use and setup standard office equipment and IT appliances.
  • Advanced experience in cloud applications such as Office 365.
  • Ability to participate in thematic activities to suggest technologies for business solutions.
  • Good attention to details in order to identify data discrepancies.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and follow clear instructions.  
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with International Humanitarian Organizations (UN agencies, INGOs, etc.)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Completion of secondary school education. University degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or other related field is a plus.

Experience:

At least three (3) years of experience in the field of Information Technology or other related field including at least one (1) year of experience in helpdesk support.

Language:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English. Knowledge of French language is added advantage.
