Background Information/Organizational Context

Community-based protection (CBP) empowers communities to obtain their rights in safety and dignity. It is a process that engages refugees of different ages and backgrounds in all stages of the programme cycle. Using community-based approaches, crisis-affected communities and the humanitarian actors who assist them can identify a community's concerns, priorities and risks, explore their causes and effects, and jointly decide how to prevent and respond to them. This achieves better protection impact and improves the lives of people of concern.

By undertaking this internship, one will gain insight into participatory and community engagement techniques with both communities and civil society being applied in displacement situations.
