Terre des hommes - Foundation (Lausanne) is seeking to recruit 14 qualified Volunteers in South for SAFE! Support, Advocate, Flourish, empower most vulnerable girls, boys and women through holistic CP and GBV response and prevention and Emergency Response for IDPs following the Security context in the South.
Job Purpose / Main Functions:
The volunteers have the knowledge and practical skills to carry out community based psychosocial support activities with IDPs children and IDPs community.
The intention of this position is to build the resilience of the IDPs children and youth through psychosocial support and community activities. The volunteers implement the activities in a manner that leaves considerable positive impact on IDPs children and youth and promote their wellbeing.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach and disseminate the CP activities in the IDPs shelter and host community in South.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate psychosocial activities for IDPs children and youth.
- Strengthening and improving the resilience and wellbeing of IDPs children at risk.
- Ensure that all IDPs beneficiaries participate in the activities that are non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate.
- Ensure that IDPs parents and caregivers receive frequent feedback about their child’s participation during the sessions.
- Work directly with CP emergency team members in order to develop intervention, plans and follow up.
- Ensure that the IDPs children/youth feel safe, comfortable, and respected all the time
- Follow up on IDPs children and caregivers with CP concerns in the IDPs shelters and host community.
- Follow up on the attendance and MEAL tools of IDPs children attending PSS sessions.
- Safely identify and refer IDPs children with child protection concerns to relevant services (including child protection, formal education, Wash – Health – etc, ….)
- Report on challenges encountered, good practices and recommendations for the program.
- Attending all the trainings including (PSEA – Safeguarding – referral – etc)
- Ensure the safeguarding of IDPs children in South.
- CP and GBV mainstreaming as well as sensitization on CP and GBV.
- Report on challenges encountered, good practices and recommendations for the program.
- Conduct mobile and static activity with IDPS children when needed.
Experience & skills:
- The volunteers must have a good knowledge of and familiarity with the target groups and target areas, including local community and population habits and behaviors, public and private stakeholders, focal points or local leaders within the community, concentration of vulnerable population in specific areas.
- Specifically, it’s preferred to live close to the community or from the community where the activities is implemented.
- Communication skills: The volunteers should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly articulate information, be a good listener and able to establish positive relationships and build trust with people at all levels.
- Planning skills: The volunteers should be able to develop and respect work plans, work independently, manage time effectively, meet deadlines.
- Social consciousness: The volunteers should be socially aware of the socio-economic situation of the area and how it can affect children’s enrolment in and attendance of education.
Time Frame: 6 months.
Daily attendance to the shelters.
Salary: It’s incentives equivalent to 275 USD – Month.
