Regional Accountant-Eurasia and North Africa

We are looking for a professionally qualified accountant having work experience in the non-government sector, who has expertise in managing financial accounts and systems, developing and managing budget and institutional funding to fill in the role of Regional Accountant ENA. The candidate should have the knowledge on the procedure of submission of accounting statements and reports as required.

This roll will provide active, responsive and solution oriented hands-on support to the ENA Region on all aspects of finance. To ensure first-class and customer-focused services are effectively delivered to the regional team including the regional office, country offices and implementing partners.

The post holder will assist in ensuring controls and compliance requirements are operating effectively, high quality project financial reporting is consistently delivered on time, and risks are promptly identified and recommendations are provided on mechanisms to minimise them.

Do you have experience in:

  • Financial capacity building?
  • Substantial experience working with accounting software and online systems?
  • Proven experience in budgeting and budget management?
  • Proven experience in donor financial reporting?
  • Exposure to organisational finance compliance?
  • Proven experience in supporting programme teams in project design and management?

Do you have ability to:

  • Analyse and communicate complex financial data to non-finance staff?
  • Work under own initiative and make decisions within a clear systems framework?
  • Work cross-culturally and build relationships with staff across multiple locations?
  • Utilise finance systems and software effectively, including MS Excel, Google Sheets, and other financial management tools?
  • Organise and manage administrative tasks efficiently?
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills?

Are you:

  • A certified accountant with an ACCA?
  • A strategic thinker?
  • A committed Christian with a personal relationship with God and will be committed to Tearfund's Mission, Values and Beliefs?
  • Willing and able to travel approx 35% of the time?

Candidates must also have excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, both written and oral, as well as strong administrative skills.

This role will be based in one of the following countries: Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria or Pakistan within ENA with frequent travel. Salary will be dependent on location.
