Tahaddi Lebanon is currently searching for a part-time primary care nurse.

 

Reports to: Medical Director, Tahaddi Lebanon 

Location: Southern Beirut (Hay El Gharbeh)

Work type: Part-time:15-hours per week between the hours of 8:00 AM- 3:30 PM (Monday-Friday).

Position summary: The community-based primary care nurse will work at the Tahaddi Health Center (THC) in southern Beirut.  The nurse is responsible for clinical care for patients including, but not limited to, providing vaccinations, wound care, taking vital signs, drawing blood, growth monitoring, patient education and assisting with minor surgeries. This position reports to the Medical Director and works as part of the nursing team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:

    • Provide nursing services to the patients coming to Tahaddi clinic, with a high level of professionalism and with respect towards all, regardless of origin or socio-economic level
    • Perform wound care, burn care, suture removal as needed
    • Draw blood as needed (newborns included)
    • Take the patient’s history with a brief chief complaint and assess vital signs
    • Schedule and participate in home visits to elderly, bed ridden, post-partum women and homebound patients on an as needed basis
    • Provide consultation in areas such as contraception methods
    • Assist doctors in minor medical procedures as needed
    • Maintain patient confidentiality even after working hours.

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

    • Ensure patient records and clinic statistics are kept up to date
    • Ensure the availability of clinical supplies and medications and request them when needed and administer the ordered medications in a timely fashion
    • Organize the storage of clinical supplies in conjunction with the receptionist
    • Ensure patient rooms are kept orderly and hygienic
    • Submit monthly work-report in a timely fashion

 

Qualifications:

  • Nurse with at a bachelor’s degree (BSN) in nursing from an accredited institution. 
  • Valid Lebanese Nursing License & membership in the Lebanese Order of Nurses
  • At least three years of clinic experience in a primary care setting with a strong commitment to social medicine
  • Patient centered approach with compassionate, respectful communication skills with sensitivity to patient confidentiality.
  • Selfmotivated, initiative taker, able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work in an economically disadvantaged community and within basic facilities
  • Adherence to Tahaddi’s core values of justice for all, integrity and serving individuals with compassion and respect.
  • Languages: Native speaker of Arabic preferred, good level of English is desirable.
