Programs Assistant

Work Context:
Sonbola is a startup grassroots NGO that focuses on delivering educational programs, specifically to fill the gaps of Syria’s education crisis and address the education of Syrian refugee children and youth, with a special focus on quality and sustainability. Sonbola has three main programs: Taleem, Tamkeen, and Tadreeb. These programs focus on NonFormal Education (NFE), support for Formal Education, and building the capacity and professionally empowering Syrian educators.
Position Purpose:
The overall purpose of the Programs Assistant position is to provide support with the efficient implementation of Sonbola’s programs with utmost quality. The Programs Assistant will be responsible for help in managing the programs’ field staff and for being the main liaison with local authorities, international organizations, and community stakeholders in Lebanese regions.
Major Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Programs Assistant include program implementation coordination, communications, networking, and reporting. Responsibilities should be handled and applied within the spirit of Sonbola’s mission, vision, and scope of work.
1- Programs Implementation
a. Undertake field visits to assess the programs performance and validate that they are applied in light of Sonbola’s set objectives and plans.
b. Identify eventual problems and supporting in finding durable solutions
c. Help in assessing the Regional Staff performance
d. Ensure weekly communication with the Teachers Coordinator in order to assess program’s implementation
e. Ensure effective program reporting and maintain constant communication with the Executive director and the Regional Programs Manager
f. Suggest development plans and future steps to better enhance program delivery.
e. Organize logistically the trainings for Sonbola educators
g. Follow up on teachers’ performance during the lessons, with a special focus on teachers’ techniques and interaction with children
2- Networking and Communication
a. Responsible of the Volunteering Program:
Recruit volunteers
Help in identifying possible partners, such as students’ organization
Follow up on volunteers’ performance, with the help and support of the Regional team
Assure reporting to Executive Director
b. Represent Sonbola in all meetings with local authorities, international organizations, and community stakeholders.
c. Maintain strong relationships and coordination with all agencies and local community.
3- Social Media:
a. Follow up of the design of flyers for Sonbola's Comms/Occasions dates celebrated and promoted on social media.
4- Financial Part:
a. Manage the financial expenses in Beirut Office
4- Other Responsibilities
a. Assist in all logistical and operational issues.
b. Help with the preparation of Sonbola’s events
