About the project:

Under the project of “Improving Mental Health and Well-being of People Living in Lebanon”. A consortium of three organizations, MdM, Skoun, Embrace, and the National Mental Health Program (NMHP), supported by the Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), aims to improve the opportunities for women, men, boys, girls, and gender non-compliant individuals in Lebanon to enjoy the best possible mental health and wellbeing. The consortium aims to reach its objective by supporting community-based Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support (MHPSS) and Substance Use (SU) systems offering appropriate, quality, and gender-inclusive services to all people living in Lebanon, particularly the most vulnerable groups and people at risk while tackling gender barriers in service access and gender biases in service provision. The specific activities of the project target the different levels of the social-ecological model with activities designed and aimed at the individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community levels.

Scope of work:

The video animator is responsible for developing interactive and appealing animated videos under the activities of the prevention department of Skoun.The Animator would be in charge of delivering multiple short videos- up to three videos in total and 1.5 minutes each, based on the content. The videos will be targeting caregivers on topics like safety, prevention and guidance and overall tips to support them in positively engaging with their children and/or teenagers when it comes to substance use.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The candidate is expected to:

  • Coordinate with concerned staff and discuss possible approaches to the video production.
  • Closely coordinate with the Youth Protection Coordinator; the Animator will work with the support of the Youth Protection Coordinator, who provides general instructions and guidelines, and reviews work on a regular basis to ensure overall quality.
  • Create a suitable brand identity and animation in line with Skoun’s vision.
  • Provide an outline of the videos (contents, delivery, and time frame before the completion of the full content).
  • Develop concept videos and storylines.
  • Use animation, infographics, sketches, diagrams etc. where appropriate.
  • Maintain a common flow and structure in the generated content.
  • Edit and finalize the videos accordingly, add voice-over when needed.

Deliverables:

  • Handing drafts of the multiple short videos before handing the finalized, animated videos in respect to the decided deadline date
  • An appropriate, accessible story line for discussion
  • Content of the videos to include: voice-over, music, and effects
  • Production will take place starting March. The consultant will collaborate with and arrange for reviews and approvals with stakeholders for the concept development, rough out, and final cut of the videos.
