The Rene Moawad Foundation is seeking 2 field coordinators for its new project entitled "Pillar II - Upscaling Shelter, Food Security, Protection, and GBV services to extremely vulnerable individuals in North-Lebanon and Akkar", supported by OCHA Lebanon through Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF).
The project is one year project and it aims to contribute in upscaling multi-sectoral humanitarian response for extremely vulnerable households in targeted localities in Akkar and North-Lebanon.
Position summary
This position requires a highly motivated and competent individual committed to succeeding in delivering the tasks of the project. The role is focused on monitoring and supervising the day-to-day field operations of the project implementation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead project condition assessments and evaluations including identifying problems and proposing alternatives.
- Check project specifications, data management, spreadsheets and databases, maps, drawings and other supporting documents (legal clearances and/or permits) when needed.
- Validate term of reference, technical drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) specifications for infrastructure projects.
- Build and maintain healthy relationships with local actors covered in the project (municipality and WE staff, Host communities, Refugees…)
- Monitor projects construction’s related activities and ensure its delivery within time.
- Standardize forms to be used for site inspection, design and meetings.
- Supervise, monitor and finalize all construction plans including, work plans, shop drawings, tender documents and procurement plan (where applicable)
- Provide technical expertise on the project’s operations related mainly to project activities.
- Coordinate works with the local authorities, the targeted Municipalities, union of municipalities and the North Lebanon Water Establishment.
- Ensure the ability to implement flexible tasks.
- Manage the logistics of all outreach related activities and venues.
- Participate in the task force groups and coordination meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience in engineering and infrastructure works.
- Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate diploma in the following: Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, preferable specialized in water, sanitation, renewable energy.
- Previous experience working in water, sanitation, health, renewable energy and waste management projects.
- Previous experience in design, planning, implementation and quality assurance.
- High Skills in working on essential construction (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical) projects, including relevant softwares.
- Ability to review and write reports.
- Ability to manage data effectively.
- Ability to cope and work under pressure.
- Good coordination skills and proven experience in working with external stakeholders, i.e. water establishments, municipalities, …
- Familiarity with local NGOs programs.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate to large audiences.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in person, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, and able to problem solve and engage others as needed.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office software (AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- Be flexible with working hours’ schedule when needed.
