The René Moawad Foundation (RMF) is seeking to recruit an “Early Childhood Development Facilitator (ECD)” for MAKANI Programme in the North.

DESCRIPTION:

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Identify early developmental and psychological delays in children and ensure that they receive appropriate care;
  • Support by conducting screenings, home visits, counseling sessions;
  • Organize referrals and childcare arrangements,
  • Educating the community;
  • Conduct one on one counselling for caregivers of children under 5 on the integrated Nutrition and ECD;
  • Assist families and caregivers to refer and obtain quality care for their children;
  • Refer any suspected Malnutrition case of children aged 6 months – 5 years or Pregnant and lactating women (PLWs) to Nutrition partner for follow up at PHC;
  • Refer any child in need of Micronutrient Powders (MNPs) to UNICEF Nutrition partners;
  • Refer any lactating women with challenges, or in need for breastfeeding counselling to UNICEF Nutrition partner for IYCF counselling;
  • Refer any child with developmental delays and in need for specialized services to nearest PHCCs (primary health care center) or any specialized center that provide such services;
  • Encourage and support the multi-sectoral collaboration to optimize child development, especially for children with developmental delays and disabilities and their families;
  • Document children’s developmental needs, issues, and progress, and keep record of the social services programs and resources families utilize, and acquire children’s records of immunization, physical examinations, and other necessary medical documents using the Milestones cards;
  • Regularly update the list of referrals and follow up with proper follow up on case by case.
  • Conduct group sessions for caregivers of children under 5 using the ECD Modules provided;
  • Work within a team and acting professionally and ethically towards all concerned parties;
  • Use feedback provided by the supervisor to improve the work;
  • Organize and prepare the space, equipment, and materials before conducting the planned activities;
  • Record daily attendance of the children;
  • Report any case of neglect or individual abuse to the direct line manager;
  • Participate in a weekly staff meeting;
  • Perform any duties assigned by the Center Manager;
  • Work in office and on the field upon requirement; 
  • Timely identify, inform, and discuss any issues with the Center Manager; and
  • Adhere to and act in accordance with RMF Policies and Procedures.

All RMF staff are required to adhere to the RMF policies and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

 

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in education and/or other relevant degrees.
  • Experience in working as a facilitator.
  • At least one-year experience in similar jobs
  • Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, ability to improvise, team player.
  • Ability to productively work under pressure while maintaining a sense of humor;
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time;
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
