ʺEmbellishing The Facades of Bsharriʺ; REQUEST FOR TENDER DOCUMENT PROPOSAL FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF: TOOLS FOR WALLS RENOVATION AND PAINTING - RFT-PMER-2020-002
“Embellishing the facades of Bsharri” is part of the Local Development Programme for Urban Areas in North Lebanon (UDP_NL), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in partnership with Placemaking M.E. Region and the Ministry of Social Affairs. UDP_NL is co-funded by the European Union and Germany.
The project of Façade Painting with some additional work inside some main alleys in the “Souk “ and the treatment of some facades and old ornamental doors and windows is in line with the Bsharri 2022 Urban Strategy that the municipality is leading in order to improve the socio-economic situation of the village.
This project highlights the importance of the image of the village of Bsharri as a touristic and economical attraction through the rehabilitation and embellishment of its facades. This projects aims at joining the efforts of the main local actors, such as the municipality of Bsharri, le local community, and civil society organization in addition to local professionals, artists and activists.
As a Cash for Work Project it targets around 150 participants through a diversity of activities at a ratio of 50% Lebanese and 50% Syrians with 25% to 30 % Female.
The main activities are as follows:
- A total of 70 building are estimated to be rehabilitated through the following process and techniques: Step 1: Pressure-Wash Walls. To ensure best coverage, remove dirt and dust buildup from house using a pressure washer. Step 2: Repair damaged surfaces. Step 3: Remove loose paint. Step 4: Caulk trim. Step 5: Prime stains. Step 6: Protect doors, Windows and lights. Step 7: Paint exterior. Step 8: Paint trim.
- As for the street arts and greenery, this will be proposed by the designers to help covering retaining walls and buildings that needs to be embellished. In addition it help activating some narrow streets within the site of intervention. The streets arts can have different forms such as spray paint graffiti, stencil graffiti, wheat pasted poster art and sticker art. Greenery will include high trees and climbing shrubs. Regarding the street arts and beautification of internal alleys, the map bellow shows where some intervention could took place, noting that this street is commercial and considered as heritage, where most of its façade are from Stone and could be cleaned.
How to apply
You must submit one original of the RFT Bid Form in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the RFT number and the Bidders name.
The sealed envelope must be deposited into the PLACEMAKING M.E. REGION Tender Box at the address stated on page one before the RFT Closing Date and Time. It is the Bidders responsibility to ensure that the sealed envelope is deposited into the Tender Box.
Any Bids not received on the official PLACEMAKING M.E. REGION Bid Form, or in a sealed envelope may be disqualified for non-compliance with these RFT Instructions.
All Bids received in pencil will be disqualified.
