Brief description
PCPM and Jami’a Shabab Al-‘Ata Al-Jazil’s PHCC in Bire are seeking for a General Practitioner doctor to treat in the community, patients with minor or chronic illnesses and who would refer patients with special medical conditions to the hospitals.
Tasks include
Diagnosis (at early stage of a condition) during patients’ consultations and examinations
Responding to medical problems by providing treatment (in case of hypertension, diabetes, infections and other common health problems)
Ability to know when to refer a patient to the hospital, when is needed further investigation or treatment
Diagnosis and response to drug resistance and rational antibiotics management
Liaising with other stakeholders within the sector and other medical services to assist in the most effective way
Providing guidance in proper charting/ documentation practices to meet the standards and funding requirements (medical documentation check)
Providing health services while ensuring that productivity standards are consistent with funding requirements
Maintaining an effective sterilization process in accordance with hygiene standards of the PHCC and MMU (clean crew and equipment)
Drafting weekly reports on the health services provided
Availability “on-call” for crisis intervention consultation
Ensuring that health services (medical checks, nursing care or permanent catheters) are accessible to patients who cannot visit the PHCC through MMU’s HH visits
Maintaining updated on daily basis, patients’ records and history of the ailments
Promoting health education and spreading awareness about malnutrition
Qualifications and skills
Respect for patient’s confidentiality
Medical Degree approved by the Syndicate of Doctor
Official permission to work in Lebanon as a GP
Experience in vaccination program monitoring
Knowledge of diabetes screening program
Experience in conducting tests (USG unit, EKG unit, fast CRP tests, blood tests, glucometer usage, oximeter urine tests and nebulizer usage)
Five years of relevant job experience
Ability to communicate with other healthcare professionals
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills; punctuality
Promoting continuous learning and active attitude to work
Creativity: taking initiatives to solve problems and improve the PHCC
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Proficiency in Arabic and English; Russian is an advantage
Competencies
Excellent observation skills: ability to observe, listen and spot symptoms that could have been missed
Coping with pressure: ability to accept criticism and to cope with stressful situations at work
Self-Control: the position of GP requires maintaining composure
Work timing:
PCPM is looking for GP to work 4-5 days per week for about 2-3 hours per day.
