Mentoring program For PRCS/L Hamshari Hospital in Saida

Summary

The Palestine Red Crescent Society in Lebanon (PRCS) are looking for an experienced Covid-19 ICU medical nurse to work as a mentor on the Covid-19 ICU ward in the  PRCS  Hospital in Hamshari/Saida to train, support and maintain the qualified knowledge transfer to committed medical nurses at the COVID-19 ICU and COVID-19 ward. The aim is to create and maintain quality support towards two leading ICU Covid- 19 ward nurses to work independently by using standard medical guidelines, procedures, and protocols from MoPH and WHO SOPs.

Since March 2020 Hamshari Hospital is running a functional COVID-19 ward with 10 and and ICU with 6 beds, run by 2 Doctors and 10 nurses. T

The nurse mentor will closely work with one COVID-19 ICU nurse and one COVID-19 ward nurse on a daily basis to assure that medical protocols and standards are available, understood, and implemented accordingly.

As a mentor you will facilitate the understanding to the mentee about in-depth monitoring and patient care to individuals who are placed in intensive care for a compromised respiratory system, have complicated post-op needs, multisystem organ failure, or if their health is significantly compromised for some other reason. In addition to monitoring patient conditions, you assist with patient and family education. Once a patient becomes non-critical, coach your mentees to help to coordinate the continuation of their care in a different unit of the hospital, unless they have recovered enough to coordinate their immediate discharge.

As part of the onboarding the mentor will take part of a 3 day capacity building workshop together will Covid-19 medical staff from the hospital. The mentor will follow the curriculum as well as quality performance indicators. The mentorship is supervised by a bi-weekly coaching by the Health Delegate of the Swisish Red Cross, using a feedback documentation system.
