Detailed Job Description

Lead and oversee the implementation of the organization’s PSEA and child and women safeguarding policies, procedures, and protocols.

Conduct regular training sessions for staff and volunteers on preventing and responding to incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse and on child and women safeguarding.

Establish and maintain mechanisms for receiving, documenting, and referring PSEA complaints and incidents related to child and women abuse or exploitation.

Collaborate and work closely with relevant stakeholders, including local authorities, child protection agencies other NGOs, to strengthen PSEA measures within the community and ensure timely and appropriate support for survivors

Develop and implement initiatives to promote gender equality and empower women and girls.

Conduct gender analyses to identify specific needs and challenges faced by women and girls in the community.

Advocate for gender-sensitive programming and policies within the organization and among partners.

Develop and maintain a network of referral partners, strengthen referral pathways to ensure that survivors of abuse or exploitation and other incidents or inquiries receive comprehensive support.

Track referrals by following up with beneficiaries and collecting feedback using the referral tools and database until case closure.

Provide the project manager with the corresponding beneficiary data related to each project as per set criteria.

Keep track of services offered to beneficiaries and update Nusaned data accordingly.

Address beneficiaries’ queries through the helpline in a respectful and professional manner and offers reassurance to callers in distress.

Take responsibility for the proper implementation of all helpline operating procedures and refer all cases to the appropriate managers/external organisations according to those procedures. 

Seek support and assistance from project managers and program coordinators if issues arise or if information is needed.

Conduct phone surveys whenever needed.

Collect and organize the list of beneficiaries according to protection data protocols.

Clean and update collected data regularly. 

Ensure efficient data transmission and archives for future reference.

Acts as the Focal point for all beneficiaries at the hub.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of referral systems and make recommendations for improvement as needed.

Organize workshops, seminars, and other learning events to enhance knowledge and skills in protection and referrals.

Foster a culture of accountability and respect for human rights within the organization and among partners.

Process and respond to community feedback and complaints, handling
internal and external referrals and constantly following up on those referrals.

Comply with the organization’s policies and procedure as well as Code of Conduct.

Implement other tasks as requested by the Head of strategic development & communication.

Reports to: Head of Head of strategic development & communication.

Collaborate with: MEAL, Communication, Head of Programs, Project Managers, Field officers, volunteers.

Knowledge and Experience

Extensive knowledge of humanitarian principles and processes. 

Bachelor’s degree is a must, preferrably in social work, international development, gender studies, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree in social work, social sciences, humanitarian development, and /or business administration is required.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in protection, gender equality, and/or child and women safeguarding, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.

Contextual knowledge of local communities and demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the diverse social/cultural/high-security contexts.

Knowledge of Protection and PSEA principles, GBV programming, and referrals, cases and complaints mechanisms. Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an added value.

Strong understanding of gender dynamics and the intersectionality of gender with other forms of discrimination.

Experience in developing and implementing referral systems and protocols.

Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultural contexts

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills (internal and external relationships, networks, professional and international stakeholders at the senior level)

Excellent reporting skills.

Motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative and local environment.

Information dissemination skills are required, ability to understand, explain and contextualise accountability tools.  

Ability to work effectively under pressure, stress management certifications will be considered an added value.   

Genuine care and respect for needs of others, practically vulnerable populations with strong belief in empowering marginalized and disenfranchised people.   

High integrity and willingness to conduct her\himself transparently and open to scrutiny.

Demonstrate excellent English and Arabic oral and written communication skills
