Call for a Consultant: Review of MHPSS Curriculum
Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking a qualified and experienced consultant to undertake a comprehensive review of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Curriculum. This curriculum plays a crucial role in our mission to enhance self-reliance and resilience of project participants including vulnerable Refugees and Lebanese. The MHPSS curriculum is comprised of 8 group sessions delivered in person by PSS facilitators addressing stressors, identifying, and dealing with difficult emotions, self-compassion, and self-care.
Consultancy objectives:
The primary objectives of this consultancy are to:
- Evaluate the current MHPSS Curriculum's effectiveness in meeting the needs of diverse populations and addressing the evolving landscape of mental health and psychosocial support.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in the existing curriculum, considering cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and relevance to different contexts.
- Provide recommendations for updates, modifications, or additions to enhance the overall quality and impact of the MHPSS Curriculum.
Consultant responsibilities:
The selected consultant is expected to:
- Conduct a thorough review of the existing MHPSS Curriculum materials (8 sessions).
- Engage with key stakeholders to gather feedback on the current curriculum's effectiveness and relevance.
- Ensure that the curriculum follows global best practices and advancements in the field of mental health and psychosocial support.
- Develop a comprehensive report outlining findings, recommendations, and a proposed action plan for the revision of the MHPSS Curriculum.
- Submit the revised and updated MHPSS curriculum alongside all relevant resources and materials, including a concise guideline and a check list for MHPSS facilitators including best practices, recommendations, and minimum standards after 2 weeks from the initial meeting with NEF team.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates for this consultancy should possess the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in clinical psychology.
- A proven track record in the field of mental health, psychosocial support, or related disciplines.
- Extensive experience in curriculum development, evaluation, and review, particularly in the context of humanitarian and development programs.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present clear, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
