About NAHNOO:

NAHNOO is a Lebanese registered Non-Governmental Organization working since 2009 as a research and advocacy platform for participatory policymaking, towards an inclusive society in Lebanon. The NGO rallies volunteers across Lebanon and through multidisciplinary and participatory research, capacity-building workshops, and grassroots activities, we provide a platform for youth and professionals to lead the planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns and gain the skills needed to impact policy-making at the local and national levels.

JOB DESCRIPTION

General role               

The goal of the Communications department is to raise the visibility, strengthen the reputation and extend the reach of NAHNOO’s mandate through clear, consistent and constant communication.

The Communication Manager creates creative content (written & basic visual) related to all our campaigns and projects and delivers our messages in the most efficient and accurate way, reflecting NAHNOO’s voice and image via our online (social media channels, emails, websites…) and offline presence (press releases and media relations).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the digital presence of NAHNOO by designing and implementing social media as well as media and audience outreach strategies based on our advocacy goals and projects specific objectives using research, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
  • Efficiently identify and track target audiences and reach: monitoring & evaluation insights and engagement indicators over our digital platforms and media reach to document, analyze and help improve our reach and visibility (using tools such as media and social media trackers, statistics, online metrics like Google Analytics etc)
  • Ensure that NAHNOO’s communication outputs are of a high standard; respond to the

needs of the target audience

  • Create high-engagement content that reflects NAHNOO’s voice (online posts, press kits and participate in development of press releases, promotional material, articles etc)
  • Produce a regular publishing schedule by implementing a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns for advocacy, awareness, informational or educational purpose
  • Participates in the production of a diverse range of information products (including audio/visual communications, publications etc)
  • Community management: promptly respond to comments and messages in a professional manner adhering to our social media guidelines and regularly update information on NAHNOO’s online platform
  • Develops communications material for the NGO including newsletters and promotional materials and contributes in the development of yearly programmatic reports
  • Maintain an up-to date multimedia archive or the material produced (videos, audio, visuals, articles etc)
  • Organizes media outreach: arranges all media contacts, press briefings, and interviews
  • Builds information networks: plans and oversees maintenance of publicly accessible information materials on the different themes that NAHNOO works on; plans and develops outreach activities

 

 General qualifications & key competencies                                              

Educational & Professional qualifications:

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media &/or Journalism, Marketing or related field

- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field of communications in a reputable organization, especially within a public or nonprofit institution
- Proven experience in the Lebanese media environment relevant to advocacy issues, especially related to Good Governance, Cultural Heritage and urban planning & policies

- Proven records of successful social media campaigns especially using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blogs, including the nuanced use of SEO, keywords and “hashtags”

 

Key skills & competencies:

- Fluent in both Arabic and English (verbal and written)

- Audiovisual and graphic design skills is a big plus

- Computer literacy on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc) as well as graphic software such as Photoshop & Illustrator.

- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media and marketing

- Strong capabilities are essential in writing, editing and proofreading

- Excellent research and writing skills

- Confident in public speech, including ability to present concepts verbally

- Demonstrates initiative, strong leadership and team spirit

- A wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Have the capability to create unique communication material and simultaneously manage multiple projects within tight deadline with the ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines
