Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1.
Assist the project coordinator, director, and officer in the implementation of the project activities
2.
Organize and ensure ongoing exchange of information between al the partners, members, and program senior staff
3.
Collect and record member’s information and using specific formats and provides comprehensive data reports
4.
Monitor and communicate with MEPI LAA members on daily basis
5.
Support translation of key documents, including press releases and speeches, to provide information to the media
6.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
7.
Assist in designing the needed forms, questionnaires, and other templates
8.
Understand and be able to explain to other work of MEPI LAA
9.
Carry out administrative tasks as agreed upon and other duties assigned
10.
Write and disseminate press releases to local, regional and/or international media as appropriate. Support regional and support office media relations initiatives
11.
Monitor and communicate news media coverage of MEPI LAA events with media
12.
Manage distribution lists key media contacts
13.
Ensure Project implementation in compliance with MEPI LAA policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
University degree in Communication, Journalism, Public relations and other related fields.
Essential
Knowledge and Skills
Familiarity with NGO work and donor relations
Experience working on social media, communication and developing publications and community relations
Good research and analytical skills

Language Requirements
Fluency in English

Experience
1 to 2 years of experience working in NGOs
Work Environment
The Communication Officer will be working 100% on the project
Contract
8 months (Renewable) – Immediate availability
Salary
Based on experience & MEPI LAA salary scale
