Description: 

Main Purpose

 

Prepare, provide and present health education sessions to the population/patients according MSF principles and values in order to promote health information through health measures and hygiene conditions as well as provide information about MSF activities in order to facilitate access to healthcare.

 

 

Accountabilities

 

  • Prepare material and deliver health education sessions, messages and topics addressed to different populations regarding hygiene, diseases and prevention.
  • Ensure all the patients and caretakers are well informed, according to protocols, about health-related issues and services provided.
  • Monitor health situation and living conditions of the population by conducting nutritional screening, collecting information related to food security, checking vaccination status of children, looking actively for any defaulters in programs that require this type of research, collecting information on number of people arriving or leaving the community, births and deaths in the community, etc.
  • Identify people with medical problems, contact with medical team and report for immediate transfer if needed. He/she must inform to the line manager about any problem encountered (population, equipment, material…).
  • Report to line manager of all results of screening and visits on a regular basis.

 

 

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

 

  • Daily visits to Masharieh Al Qaa community to do health education, community sensitization and service promotion.
  • Frequently, support Midwife in conducting family planning assessment and education sessions in Masharie Al Qaa.
  • Track roumurs and misconceptions among people in the community and report to the line manager.
  • Monitor health seeking behaviour and arising situations that affect health situation of people in the community.
  • Collaborate with Mental Health and Social work team in order to better serve our patients.
  • Conducting surveys upon request.
  • Daily educational sessions related to health services MSF provides in the clinics upon the schedule shared by the line manager.
  • Conduct any other task requested by line manager in favor of applying new strategies.

 

 

 

Requirements

 

 

Education

Essential diploma in Public Health or Community Health. Desirable Degree in Public Health.

Experience

At least two (2) years experience in similar position. Previous experience with MSF or other INGOs is desirable.

Languages                      

Arabic language essential, English language desirable.
