PSS Officer- SMC (Beirut with frequent travel to BML and Bekaa) -(2 vacancies)

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Technical side of the role
- Lead, organize and supervise the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities of assigned SMC PSS Volunteers, related to Psycho-Awareness Sessions, Peer Support Groups for adults, Psychosocial Supports groups for adolescents, Referrals; and Psychological First Aid and communication skills.
- Provide training, coaching and supervision for identified SMC PSS Volunteers to conduct awareness sessions, PSGs, PSSs, safe identification and referrals and related activities.
- Train community center partners on MHPSS interventions when required.
- Assist community volunteers and/or community partners to establish and maintain peer support groups and other relevant PSS interventions, and conduct regular training and supervision visits, under the technical oversight of the Senior officer/manager.
- Provide continuous support on PSS activities, including check-up visits, for Community Volunteers
- Assist in the formulation of Psychosocial Support (PSS) messages and approaches, in consultation with MHPSS project staff and the Community volunteers.
- Monitoring data entry and submit timely weekly and monthly reports to the senior officer.
- Receive and follow-up on internal PSS referrals and provide feedback of actions taken.
- Ensure individual needs are assessed thoroughly for accurate completion of referral forms for external referrals.
- Build relationships and act as a link between Medair and communities, provide feedback on how to maintain and improve these links.
- Engage community leaders, community-based organizations, and other service providers in supporting beneficiaries to access PSS and other services.
- Assist in planning and implementation of assessments and surveys as required.
- Recommend any improvements or changes in the program to the senior officer.
2- Staff Management:
- Line-manage, train, coach and supervise all assigned volunteers.
- Ensure an efficient and effective work schedule is in place for volunteers in the field according to the agreed work plan.
- Monitor volunteers according to their assigned tasks and provide regular feedback to the senior officer.
- Perform evaluation of volunteers under his/her jurisdiction.
- Assess the training needs of the volunteers and field teams and ensure that appropriate training is conducted.
- Under supervision of the senior officer, identify and recruit appropriate volunteers.
3- Quality Management/Work.
- Support/assist in activities to uphold a high standard of work quality.
- Contribute with other members of the team to input in the SMC PSS strategy in the field.
- Coordinate his work with the senior officer for the implementation of the assigned activities and ensure that stated goals and objectives are met.
- Reflect the core values of MEDAIR when interacting with team members, staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
- Identify processes for improvement and implement enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external process requirements.
- Under supervision of the senior officer prepare PDFs for payment for volunteers incentives.
- Consistently deliver quality work and meet productivity standards.
- Ensure that all standardised formats are used, and guidelines are followed.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of beneficiaries, staff, and agency information.
- Actively participate in quality improvement of documents, implementation, and data system
- Ensure that all spaces where activities are implemented meet interagency standards for safe spaces whether mobile or static.
4- Communication and Coordination:
- In close coordination with the senior officer, develop and maintain appropriate, regular, transparent, and supportive communication structures with the assigned team and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries, community leaders, local municipalities) with the objective of ensuring good cooperation and partnerships.
- Participate in coordination meetings related to the project, Medair internal trainings, and other meetings as required, representing Medair and feeding back to the senior officer on relevant issues.
- Provide updates to the senior officer/ manager on a regular basis.
- Upon need represent Medair in MHPSS sector, SMC meetings and other relevant meetings and with local government representatives, international and local non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Medair during donor visits.
- Liaise, as necessary, with the SMC and logistic staff to ensure items are procured, transported, stored, managed, and accounted for correctly.
5- Risk Management
- Implement necessary procedures to manage and mitigate risks effectively as planned by the Programme Manager.
- Contribute to monitor for new potential threats.
- Contribute to regular risk assessments and discuss necessary changes.
- Communicate risk observations upwards to the senior officer/ manager.
- Compliant with internal controls and procedures
- Understand and alert Line Manager of risks and potential risks and/or policy breaches in timely and appropriate manner.
6 - Proposals and Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely written reporting according to Medair, donor and other applicable timeframes and formats as requested by the senior officer/ manager.
- Submit timely weekly and monthly reports to the senior officer/ manager and to other reporting systems.
- Provide accurate regular reports, statistics, and documented results and maintain detailed records of the overall program activities in the field.
- Review facility and community level data from the field.
- Contribute to Medair’s monitoring and evaluation activities.
7- Security, Safeguarding, and Fraud and corruption:
- Understand that safety and security at Medair is everyone's responsibility.
- Support the implementation and following of all security procedures.
- Report any suspected breaches of Medair’s Code of Conduct in a timely manner.
- Work diligently to identify and report any instances of fraud or corruption, whether intended or unintended
- Ensure the systematic prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment as well as fraud and corruption through people and process management activities.
