Graphic Designer for Visibility and Explanatory Label - Biodiversity in a box project

Background:

Mada is seeking a Graphic Designer to develop a visibility and explanatory label/sticker under the French Embassy-funded project ‘Biodiversity in a Box – Bringing Nature Back to the City”. The project will install 30 biodiversity boxes in  in Beirut Blast-affected neighborhoods. The boxes  will serve various purposes, including increasing biodiversity awareness, reviving traditional cultivation practices, fostering community engagement, enhancing urban spaces, and potentially providing economic benefits to surrounding residents.

Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating eye-catching and distinctive labels/stickers to be displayed on the boxes. The labels will serve to: (1) ensure donor and project visibility – therefore include the relevant logos and project title; (2) list and explain the contents of the boxes in terms of species of flora.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• Propose to Mada 3 different designs for the labels/stickers (A4 size approximately) in line with Mada’s expectations and the donor’s visibility guidelines.
• Adjust/revise based on feedback. An estimate of 3 back and forth is expected to lead to the final selected design. To note that the contents of the boxes will slightly vary and therefore the labels will have slightly different texts.
• Advise Mada on the material for the eventual printing based on the boxes material and to withstand external elements (rain, wind, etc.).
• Support Mada to obtain 3 quotations for the printing and provide recommendations/approval on the sample.

Deliverables:

• 3 draft designs of the labels and 1 final design.
• The 30 populated stickers with the contents of each box.
• 3 quotations for printing and a sample from the selected printing house.

Requirements:

• Bachelor in Graphic Design or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in graphic design or related fields.
• Proven relevant experience in similar projects.
• Ability to collaborate closely with the project team, incorporating feedback to align the design with the project's messaging and objectives.
• Effective communication skills and responsiveness to inquiries and requests.
• Commitment to delivering a high quality, professional design that align with the project's objectives.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
