The program : 
The University scholarships for Syrian students is a program launched in 2013 offering now 420 scholarships for syrian students in their university education all around Lebanon. While the core component of the program is the scholarships and access to Education, additional components were later on added to the project according to students needs. Now the program is composed of the following: 
- Scholarships for Students 
- English courses run by LASeR 
- Capacity Building 
- Social Entrepreneurship & social change 
The project coordinator: 
The project coordinator is mainly responsible for the scholarships component but is highly involved in the implementation of the others three. This person will be the main point of contact with the students and thus his students affairs responsibilities. He will be in charge as well to follow up with universities, different partners around the country and implement all sort of activities related to this program. 
 
The different tasks will revolve around these areas: 
-Program Design: Design of all the milestones, of new components and new projects to be added to the program, along with the program manager and all the team. 
- Program Implementation: Communicating with universities, and partners in different areas, as well as applicants before and throughout the selection phase. Responsibility of execution  of the yearly plan, starting with the reach out to students (and potential partners) , to selection , to enrollement in universities , to a daily follow up during the year.
- Follow up with students: their grades, their attendance in universities, collecting documents, archiving their files, documenting all needed data in a students database, reach out to students whenever needed (evaluation, focus groups, gatherings, informal gatherings ..) 
- Communication and social media: Posting regularly on our social media channels, documenting the progress of the program
Technical & Soft skills needed: 
- Belief in the cause and a high drive towards Education and developement
- Communication skills: daily and weekly reporting of the progress of the project. Possibility of following up with students, listen to them, understand their concerns and channel them to higher management. This person could meet up to 50 students per day and has to have all the patience and energy to interact with them.
- A sense of project management: Respect of timeline of activities, deadlines, daily to do list, interdependencies with other team members. This person will as well managing from time to time a group of volunteers or part time staff through events or occasional projects, thus the management skills needed to overlook the work of a team.
- ICT knowledge: Microsoft Office knowledge is a must. Microsoft access or any SIS software knowledge is a plus and highly recommended.
