The Lebanese Association for scientific research received its license in 2009, registration number 1073. LASeR currently comprises of more than 40 researchers and university professors from various disciplines. The association’s internal regulations consist of supporting and encouraging scientific research in all fields. The objective of the association is to raise awareness of scientific knowledge and cultural heritage, through supporting university students, university professors, and higher education institution, and the marketplace key players. In general LASeR aims at building the bridges of cooperation and communication with local and global research centers, and working to provide grants, trainings, and offering the support for promising students and high achievers to reduce the brain drain in Lebanon.
To execute our intended programs LASeR is formed of a building made up of 5 floors which sums up to 1000m2 and is divided upon:
6 training rooms
3 professors desks
Hall that contains multiple students’ desks
3 suites that hosts the visiting professors
1 floor for administration offices
Thus the operations manager role is to manage LASeR’s facilities and monitor the proper running of various operations, procurement, and facility management.
Responsibilities
1. Operations management tasks
Managing the house of researchers in terms of communicating with the guests and making reservations.
Managing the venue in terms of class reservations and executing the logistic support for running the classes.
Managing the association car
Coordinating with the travel agencies for airlines tickets reservations
Managing quality assurance program: Monitoring the quality in operations, researching and recommending alternative methods of efficiency.
Setting and reviewing budgets and managing costs.
Monitoring the needed maintenance of the association facilities.
Procurement of furniture, electronic supplies, stationary, etc…
2. Grants management tasks
Managing students’ applications on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
Treatment of the applications according to LASeR’s preset criteria.
Archiving the data.
Issuing certificates for granted students (Attestation)
Communication with the students
Executing the student’s contracts
Monitoring and follow up of the student’s loans program
Scheduling the student’s payments and receivables and reporting it to the accounting department
Reporting program progress to LASeR’s director
Answering student’s inquiries
Following up with students throughout the year (in terms of collecting grades reports and student’s achievements…)
3. Accounting tasks
Maintain petit cash
Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Record cash receipts and make bank deposits and issue checks.
Ensure that receivables are collected promptly.
Conduct payment orders and journal entry.
Monitor office supply levels and record as necessary.
Maintain the chart of accounts.
Prepare examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports.
Preparing the yearly income and financial statements and send them to the ministry of interior.
Preparing the NSSF and income taxes procedures and payments.
Coordinating with the HR to issue the monthly salaries.
Monitoring the bank account and do the adequate money exchange when necessary
Coordinating with the external auditor.
Qualification
BA in business administration MIS or a related major. Master degree is a plus.
Fluent in Arabic and English. French is plus.
4 years of experience
Skills
Microsoft Office skills. IT efficiency in terms of dealing with sudden operating errors in PCs, projectors, and sound systems. Previous experience in working on accounting software and Microsoft Office
