Jibal - Lebanon Association For Environmental and Social Justice

Jibal promotes social and environmental justice in Lebanon, striving for equitable distribution of environmental and social benefits and burdens through the furtherment of collective organization, accessible and open knowledge, and regenerative principles. We believe that a harmonious world entails the fair sharing of the environment and natural resources, on the one hand, and the recognition of reciprocal relations of equality and the redistribution of wealth, on the other.

Through an experience based pedagogy, the participants to Jibal projects are at the center of the activity, both in terms of creating content and producing knowledge. Our activities aim at promoting change in attitudes and behaviors, and not only at cognitive level by transmitting information. Through applied research projects, the NGO produces analysis and studies on different topics she covers.

JIBAL stands for ‘Association for environmental and social justice in Lebanon’ because we believe that a key for a harmonious world is the fair sharing of our environment, of natural resources as well as basic and equal recognition and redistribution of wealth.

Jibal works in close collaboration with the UAE-Lebanon social enterprise Eedama, with the French NGO Tabadol and with the Lebanese alternative news website Mashallah news.
