The malnutrition monitor will be responsible for monitoring the screening Primary Healthcare centers (PHCs) to ensure optimal delivery of quality growth monitoring and promotion services for prevention, identification, and referral of all forms of malnutrition (focusing on stunting and wasting)

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Conduct regular visits to the screening PHCs in the area.
  • Ensure that anthropometric measurements are taken adequately and conduct on-the-job training to the designated health staff on anthropometric measurements (MUAC, weight, height, and edema) whenever needed.
  • Ensure that referrals for children identified with acute malnutrition to the treatment centers are done according to the guidelines to prevent a high incidence of defaulters.
  • Submit detailed checklists on the performance of the PHC.
  • Conduct community screening for acute malnutrition when needed and refer identified cases to the nearest screening and treatment PHC.
  • Follow up with referred beneficiaries from the screening centers to the treatment centers to ensure they have received the service they need.
  • Report and raise major challenges or concerns related to the referrals to the health officer and the project coordinator.
  • Distribute micronutrients to children under five when needed.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA): 

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and initiative taker.
  • Experience in capacity building and trainings
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Dynamic personality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Education:  

  • 1 year of work experience
  • Previous experience in working with vulnerable populations is an advantage.

Working Conditions

  • Stationed in the field, regular visits to the PHCs
  • Visits to Beirut office for meetings, trainings, related paperwork
  • Candidate should have a car
