Position Overview

The Social Media Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the brand's identity across all social media platforms. This role involves executing a pre-defined visual and brand strategy by creating and scheduling compelling content that resonates with the target audience. The officer will manage all social media channels, ensuring consistent community engagement, and fostering interactions that increase the brand's online presence.


Key Responsibilities

Building a Consistent Social Media Brand:

Apply the logo, color palette, and brand image developed by the design company across all social media platforms.

Ensure consistency in the brand’s visual and messaging elements in line with the established guidelines.

Content Creation and Management:

Create, curate, and manage content that aligns with the company’s brand identity and development-focused mission.

Schedule regular posts across platforms, maintaining a cohesive aesthetic and tone.

Dragting engaging content through storytelling.

Community Engagement:

Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Foster a sense of community and encourage interactions that promote the projects mission.

Building strong relationships with the audience.

Analytics and Reporting:

Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and posts.

Provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for improving engagement and reach.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the content and editorial teams to align social media activities with the project’s overall strategy.

Coordinate with the design company to ensure that any new social media assets adhere to the brand guidelines.

Performance Tracking and Adapting:

Use social media analytics tools to moniter the performance of your content and campaigns.

Regularly analyze the data to identify trends and adapt strategies accordingly to improve engagement and reach.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Social Media Specialist, Social Media intern, or similar role. 
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience required. 
  • Deep understanding of all major social media platforms (Meta Business Suite, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.). 
  • Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Google Analytics). 
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills with an eye for visual design. 
  • Ability to adhere to and implement established brand guidelines consistently. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field. 
  • Experience in managing social media for development-focused or media platforms. 
  • Familiarity with basic design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for minor content adjustments. 
  • A portfolio is strongly recommended.
