JOB SUMMARY
The USAID Dormitory Head Resident will live in the dormitory at Haigazian University in Beirut to serve as the primary resource for building community and helping 53 students connect with each other and the university. The objectives of the position include building a positive community, assisting residents with both personal and academic concerns, knowledge of and upholding University policy, and serving as a resource and/or liaison for the University. The Dormitory Head Resident reports directly to the USAID Program Manager.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Ensure that students abide by the dormitory rules and regulations
Update rules and regulations when necessary
Make sure the facility is in good operating condition
Supervise the organization of dorms social activities (one per month) throughout the year
Mitigate conflicts between roommates and neighbors
Address maintenance, disciplinary or security issues as needed
Assist students with any lodging concerns
Provide general advice and counseling to students with personal and academic difficulties
Be able to be on-call most of the time
Provide adequate information about the city
Guide students in cases of emergencies
Assign student monitors once a month to assist/report to head resident
