JOB TITLE: Accountant and Fundraising
DEPARTMENT: Administration
REPORTS TO: Financial Controller-Treasurer
SCHEDULE: Part time (25 hours per week)
LOCATION: Rmeileh and Gemmayze (work in both places)
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Accountant:
- Checking Fratelli’s finance system and enter expenses and data (Quickbooks)
- Keeping track of the expenses, filing all receipts and checking that money spent has been recorded. This includes ensuring all staff adhere to petty cash procedures
- Monthly reconciliations
- Producing a monthly finance report
- Grant budgets and updating Fratelli's overall budget
- Scan the receipts and invoices each month
- Help in other tasks to the Financial Controller
- Work in collaboration with the accountant department in Gemmayze
2) Fundraising:
- Identifying and researching potential grants
- Writing fundraising and grant proposals, including drafting necessary supporting documents such as proposed budgets
- Reporting to funding organizations on Fratelli's progress in relation to funded projects
- Responsible for ensuring that donors receive timely updates through Fratelli’s newsletter or beneficiary specific updates
- Initiating and leading fundraising campaigns. This might include events, reaching out to businesses and producing innovative ideas for fundraising
- Supporting communications campaigns
- Identifying and researching potential individual funding partners
- Developing professional relationships with funding partners such as businesses, Embassies and individuals
- Representing Fratelli externally as required
- Maintaining Fratelli’s donor database and updating the communications officer.
REQUIREMENTS
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree
- Very important: Much discretion and confidence. Every day will handling sensitive information
- If possible, that knows how to use Quickbooks
- Work in an orderly, organized and thoroughly
- Track record of raising money through grants and large individual donors
- Experience in developing funding proposals, including narrative and budget, in line with organizational funding needs and to do audits.
- Proven mathematical and logical skills
- Proven skills in using Microsoft, especially Excel (advanced)
- Ability to work independently, to initiative and with the ability to prioritize workloads without direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral English communication skills with an ability to communicate to a wide range of actors. Arabic and French Language. Spanish if possible.
- Proven research skills
- Experience working in the humanitarian sector or previous experience of working in the NGO sector.
- Good diplomacy skills
- Good presentation
- Creative and enjoys problem solving
- Capacity and availability of mobility and work in both places: Rmeileh and Gemmayze
