Advocacy Intern

The European Centre for Democracy and Human Rights is seeking creative, organized, passionate, and hard-working applicants for the Advocacy Internship position for Spring 2017.
Responsibilities
Interns will:
Develop and strengthen relationships with the NGO and think tank community in Beirut;
Monitor violations of the right to health in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and other MENA countries as directed;
Carry on extensive research and report writing capabilities;
Assist in translation tasks; and
Perform administrative and other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will be/have:
BA (MA preferred) in International Relations, Political Science, or related field a plus;
Prior experience working for NGOs and/or advocacy capacity is desired;
Extensive research and writing experience;
Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative working environment;
Experience using social media in a professional capacity; and
Proficiency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
