External Consultancy for Business Creation and Development of Cooperatives

facilitating the creation and growth of cooperative businesses.

We are seeking a dynamic and
experienced external consultant/trainer to join our team. This role involves
providing expert guidance and support in the areas of business creation,
development of cooperatives, data analysis, recording success stories, and
delivering capacity building training and coaching to our staff. The
consultant/trainer will play a crucial role in driving the success of our
initiatives and strengthening our organization's impact.

Project overview:- 

The project aspires to create a new business theory among youth in Palestinian refugee camps and move them from individual business to cooperative business.  

DROPS and during the last ten years has been involved closely in the labor market and employability field, supporting female and male juniors to achieve professional skills. Many of them lack the financial resources and/or technical knowledge to start their own business solely. Many have moved towards low wage employment especially during the last three years on the wake of financial and economic crises in Lebanon.  

40 Youth out of over 400 graduates who successfully completed previous vocation training courses will be selected, receive training and organize themselves in 4 cooperatives business according to their needs and skills. Drops will guide the youth, support them through training, provision of seed funding, support in negotiations for locations and will collaborate with work-masters who will be supporting the cooperatives. 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our team to develop and refine
    business creation strategies and cooperative development concepts.
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends,
    opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Design and implement data recording systems to capture
    relevant project information.
  • Collect and document success stories from cooperative
    projects, showcasing their positive impact on individuals and communities.
  • Develop and deliver capacity building training programs
    to enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff members.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff members,
    addressing specific needs and challenges.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and
    emerging methodologies related to cooperative business development.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven track record in business creation, preferably in
    the context of cooperatives or social enterprises.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis, with the ability to
    derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to
    effectively document success stories and deliver training/coaching
    sessions.
  • Experience in capacity building and designing relevant
    training programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and
    stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of cooperative principles and practices is
    highly desirable.
  • Relevant educational background and certifications are
    an asset.
