Expert to deliver a webinar about “Climate mitigation and adaptation approaches for small scale agriculture in Lebanon – presentation of case studies”

Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is a private, non-profit-making, politically independent and non-denominational organization that supports people living in deprivation and poverty, irrespective of the color of their skin, their religious beliefs or their worldview. WHH is working in the fields of development cooperation and humanitarian aid, relief aid, rehabilitation, and reconstruction. In Lebanon, WHH implement projects through local implementing partners where agriculture, livelihoods, food security and social stability are the main working fields

The objective is to provide the audience with a wider understanding of the different approaches for climate mitigation and adaptation for small scale agriculture in Lebanon, examples from and for the Lebanese context and potentials for further incorporation of climate mitigation and adaptation approaches in humanitarian and development projects.

• To conduct a 90-minute webinar, including a presentation (using power-point or similar presentation tool for around 45-60 minutes) of the topic of climate mitigation and adaptation approaches for small scale agriculture in Lebanon, how is it being implemented and what potentials are there for its further application.
• The webinar should present:

• presentation about the climate mitigation and adaptation approaches for small scale agriculture in Lebanon
• How are these approaches applied in Lebanon?
• Who are the main actors relevant to climate mitigation and adaptation in agriculture in Lebanon?
• What problems/downsides and challenges are associated with climate mitigation and adaptation?
• What are further potentials for climate mitigation and adaptation approaches in Lebanon?
• How can climate mitigation and adaptation approaches be incorporated in humanitarian and development projects in Lebanon?
• Present 2-3 case studies/examples from Lebanon (this should be the main part of the presentation and can cover for example cases where farmers addressed climate change impacts or took measures to mitigate the climate impact of farming including the social, economic and environmental impacts of it).
• Open discussions about climate mitigation and adaptation approaches in the Lebanese context
• Suggested structure (To be validated by expert): 45-60 min presentation & 30-45 min Q&A

• Presentation should be delivered in Arabic language if possible (otherwise English), and the presentation slides can be either in Arabic or English
• To provide a copy of the presentation to WHH in ppt or pdf format
• Webinar will take place on MS Teams and the invitation of participants will be organized by the WHH team
